Fukui Prefecture Information
Awara
12:35-2:20 = April 1, 2005 - Canson -50 x 65cm

Irises are probably about 6th in frequency of flowers on manholes here in Japan. Can you guess what flowers are most often found? I see lots of cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, azaleas, mums and sunflowers.
Echizen
3:30-4:45 = April 5, 2005 - MBM - 41cm

I had a nice sashimi ( sashimi is various types of raw seafood ) lunch as this was at the ocean. The city I live in is about one of the farthest there is from the ocean here in Japan. It is about a 3 hour drive to the ocean from Ashikaga so when I get to the ocean I enjoy swimming, snorkeling and seafood. I didn't like sushi and sashimi when I first ate them, but now I do. I don't know if I will ever like natto ( rotten, spoiled, slimy ,stinky, fermented beans).
Katsuyama
2 hours = morning of April 6, 2005 - Canson - 49 x 55cm

I did this one twice. A few days earlier, I did it and let some of the neighborhood kids ( Hi Narumi, Hikaru, and Akihiro !)
choose the colors as I drew . They chose mainly bright colors and I came back and did this version . I am amazed that kids will sit and watch for long periods of time but if I give them a sheet of paper and pencils they only last a few minutes before giving up. Dinosaur footprints.
Katsuyama

Dinosaur and footprints. I think they found some bones and footprints in this area.

Seagulls and dafodills.
Kono
12:30 - 1:45 = April 5, 2005 - MBM - 35 x 45cm

I drew this one upside down as the design sort of looks like a Japanese castle that way.: sometimes I do the drawings sideways or upside down.
Tsuruga

Pine trees.
